Higher Education Act

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) was enacted in 2008, reauthorizing the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965. The law contains important new provisions to improve access to postsecondary opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities including addressing financial aid.
