All across the nation, colleges are enrolling more and more students with intellectual disability. Changes in law have opened opportunities for people with ID to postsecondary education and financial aid. Colleges that build on the individual needs and preferences of the students seem to be most successful. Use of inclusive options and settings that reflect a natural proportion of non-disabled students with disabled students offer the most opportunity for independence and growth.
Professionals need resources to understand the trends, the law, and to be successful. The following LINKS offer extensive information.
